As a veteran of many singles events at the old Concord and Pines hotels, I must say this is both sad… and eerie. It’s almost like looking at pictures of the inside and outside of the Titanic prior to it’s maiden voyage (through old photos, artist’s renditions, and movie depictions), and then looking at the underwater photos and video footage almost a century later. What is startling is that the Pines closed for business less than two decades ago (I last stayed there during the early 1990s)!
depressing…my family used to frequent the Nevele, the Concord, Browns and Kutchers. From 18-21 I worked summers at the concord….and many times partied with my friends at the Chalet in the Pines….This is unreal…
there isnt exactly security, but someone does monitor the place. i’ve heard the cops in town are kinda sick of people going up there too, but i haven’t been up there in over a year.
Very, very sad…lonely effective music. Why have the good times/places faded into oblivion. We don’t seem to value fun anymore. All we seem to have now is empty malls. Thanks so much for posting. It will be one of my favorites .. I think it says a LOT.
What you have done here is more effective and powerful than Grey Gardens or tours of dead malls. Without a single word being spoken, you have told a story… from its hopeful beginnings to its heartbreaking conclusion. The music perfectly fits the story. Really, this is one of the best videos I’ve seen in a very long time. Great job!!!
It’s listed in the credits at the end, I even gave you the website where you can find it. Go ahead watch the video again, haha. Thanx for watching at all, though!
I just ran across this video, and it made me depressed. I stayed at this place as a child in the 70′s on a trip to visit my Grandparents. It is a wonderful memory… why did they abandone the place? It was packed when I was there.
I’m studying Hotel management and when I see hotels like this one sink it makes me SO mad, when a big business like this resort crashes it’s only the managers and owners fault, see each hotel has it’s own clients and the guests are quite faithfull to the hotels, they don’t leave or stop making reservations all of the sudden, they should have seen that something was wrong before they had come to this…

within these abandoned walls…
…dreams of future shopping malls
compliments on great video montage & non-obnoxious soundtrack
Just ghosts and echo’s of things somewhere in time!
No dreams of future shopping malls…. Just left to rot!
there’ll be a mall there someday-betcha

reminds me a bit of the movie with Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall.. the Shining…
I’s surprised no one took the door knobs!
i was wondering if there is any security there or can you just walk up there.. i am going upstate next month and would like to see this place.

it sickens me to see what happened to all these resorts

Will someone PLEASE tell me the name of this song? I want to learn it on piano.

Thank you, I learned the melody while I was messing around one day and it reminded me of this video.
very sad.
When did this resort close?
how can someone just abandon a place like that?
I spent a summer there. Very sad to see what happened.

It’s rare to see something like this happen and it’s mainly a bad management fault, something went wrong with sales, accounting, etc.
