How do you choose a which ski resort/ company/ job etc to do a working ski season?

I want to do a ski season in 2009/2010, so basically from November ish to April 2010, I am extremely flexible with dates though. I have never been skiing so I have no idea where to apply or what to apply for.
Here are few things I want to get out of it apart from the obvious learning to ski bit:
Have a good time with loads of people, (good nightlife!, but not cheesy ibiza style clubs!, I enjoy good music at a club… I realise this may be too much to ask though)
Possibly take my racing bicycle and get involved in some very cold weather training, possibly with a local club.
Learn French and get a little involved in the culture.
Work with other people, I don't want to host a chalet on my own.
I am just finishing my degree, and can cook reasonably well but have no such qualification.
I realise that it is unlikely I could actually get involved in French culture while working and skiing, but if there is a chance I could learn French I would like to take it.
Has anyone done this? Know any good websites APART FROM www.natives.co.uk
Cheers

I would try tripadvisor.com they have tons of info on most resorts and hotels and prices. You can also read reviews that customers have written and sometimes you can email/msg them more questions.
