Wow, the skier IQ of the folks posting on here is obviously below average. A skier/boarder must ALWAYS avoid obstacles below them that they are overtaking, whether its an “old fart” with a scarf, or a three year old in a harness with their parent, or a tree. At the hill I often ski at, a woman in her 30′s was standing “in the middle of the run” and was mowed down by an out of control, 17 year old snowboarder. That snowboarder is now serving multiple years in the state pen for manslaughter.

What the hell is a 7 year old doing on a ski hill in the first place. just because it is fun does not make ok for a kid to be there
I know nothing about skiing; should not the kid been back another 50 ft. behind the front skier and 30 ft to 40 ft to either side of the skier in front to give kid room to miss the person if he was to fall or stop like he did.
I blame the kids dad. As far as the lawsuit what a bunch of shit.

Regardless of who ever was at fault, the fact of the matter is that obviously no one sustained any sort of serious injury, and therefore there should be no grounds for any sort of lawsuit.
